EARLY LIFE & EDUCATION

Jared Vega was born on November 1, 2003, in Livingston, New Jersey. Raised in a latino household in Elizabeth, New Jersey, his mother is Colombian and his father is Puerto Rican. Vega found his passion for songwriting and music production at a young age. Learning to play the piano at the age of six, he began writing small excerpts of music for fun.

Growing up, Vega became a multi-instrumentalist, having learned many instruments, including but not limited to: piano, drums, guitar, violin, cello, saxophone, and clarinet. When Vega moved to Edison, New Jersey in 2018, he self-taught himself music production to turn the drafts of his songwriting into full length tracks. He graduated from John P. Stevens (JPS) High School in June 2022 and currently attends the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida. Majoring in Accounting, Vega is set to graduate by December 2025.

ORCHESTRAL FOUNDATIONS

Over time, Vega expanded his focus to include orchestral music. He grew up playing in orchestra since 4th grade, involving himself in his school orchestras and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's (NJSO) Youth Orchestra. Intrigued by the orchestration and blends of sound in a symphony, Vega began exploring composition by the time he was in high school.

His first composition, Desolation, was finalized and performed in 2022. It was an arrangement from a few drafts of electronic music he had created that never got released under his X Vegas stage name. Vega had the privilege to conduct the JPS Orchestra as they played the first live performance of his piece. During the same year, he finalized Aerial Haze, a piece for a guitar ensemble which was performed by the JPS Guitar Ensemble. In 2023, Vega arranged Desolation for the USF Honors Orchestra to perform.

Significantly improving his skills in composition and catering to orchestral blending, he arranged Two Halves (Orchestral) in 2024, fusing the electronic elements from the (soon-to-be-released) X Vegas track "Two Halves"  with classical elements in new original works. Vega conducted the USF Honors Orchestra as they played this composition live for the first time that same year. Rise of the Horizon is Vega's latest and longest composition featuring five distinct movements. Vega's involvement with the USF Honors Orchestra earned him another opportunity to conduct them as they played this piece as well.

CAREER & INVOLVEMENTS

INITIAL STAGES

Vega's early works were marked by the blend of digital synthesizers, dynamic beats, and emotional intensity. Vega's early releases date back to 2019, when he was 15 years old. He released the track Gone for the Dead under his name, Jared Vega, in 2019. He released a remixed version of the track a week later, and months after, the track Pontellier, based on the story of a book, was released. Vega, however, removed all three tracks from all music streaming platforms the following year as he did not believe they met his current production standards.

After purchasing higher quality music equipment and gaining more production experience, Vega released his debut single Promise under his stage name, X Vegas, in 2020. The track was made with his friend Big $how and was performed live once. In 2021, Vega released The Cycle of Pain alongside a lyric video he uploaded to YouTube.

Vega's track Goodbye was soon released in 2022 after he graduated from high school. He released a music video for it on the same day of its release. The song was a recollection of his high school years and was an official sign-off before leaving to college. A year later in 2023, Goodbye VIP (Deluxe EP) was released, including an orchestral version alongside its featured variation-in-production (VIP) version.

It is rumored that Vega's debut album, Revelations, is set to be released early 2025. The album features a number of collaborators, both rappers and singers, and contains 15 tracks.
